Woods Caddie Felled

We all know by now that Steve Williams was axed by Tiger Woods after 14 years.  Some pros change caddies monthly.  None are, of course, as  successful as Tiger. Still, we hate to see this marriage break up.

So, is the synergy of Tiger’s success now a curse to him?  Must he rebuild not only his knee and game, but the people around him who helped construct his success?

Apparently so.

Frankly (and idealistically) if Steve did not support Tiger’s flagrant infidelities, how can he consider it “loyal” to say nothing and allow himself a press flogging then, yet now discover his voice?   Has he no personal moral code?   What is this, the Golf Mafia? Or does money dominate morals–is that what Tiger’s millions to Steve has purchased?

I’m sorry.  I love Steve.  But this is a golfer’s game, not a caddy’s.  It is up to the caddy to have his own moral code, unless he considers himself to be a brainless and heartless  slave to his master.  Then, frankly, this type of scenario will chase me from the game.

To Tiger:  Do what you think is right, but get back to the game.

To Steve:  Get over yourself, don’t whine in hindsight,  and help Adam Scott win.
